Dear Cole,
This month has been lots of fun, and you have changed so much!
- You are walking, and you're all over the place. We went to see your Brooks for Christmas, and he showed you all his tricks. You were taking a few steps while we were loading the car, and by the time we came home you were doing such a good job getting around on your own.
- You make noises for the cars and dinosaurs that you play with.
- You know what the question "Are you ready to eat?" means. You head straight for your highchair.
- You still love to eat- anything and everything. I think you may have an allergy/sensitivity to tomatoes. You getting really rosy cheeks, but it doesn't seem to bother you.
- In the afternoon when we get home from school, you love to sit on the couch next to Levi and drink your milk and eat your snack. You look around with this proud look on your face.
- You love to empty things out- your play kitchen, the dvds in the entertainment center, the bookshelf, the tupperware cabinet. You literally move from one thing to the next. It's frustrating and precious all at the same time.
- You are wearing size 4 diapers, and you're transitioning from your 12 month to 18 month clothes.
- You have figured out how to climb now. You got on top of our lego box the other day, and you were so proud!
- You still love to read books. The other day you were flipping the pages and "reading" out loud, and it made the teacher in me swell with pride. I love that you love to read.
- You love to walk around and drum/bang on the walls, chairs, boxes... You may follow in your Daddy's footsteps and become a drummer.
- You have two new molars on the top. Cutting these teeth was rough for both of us. You didn't sleep well, and when I'd go in to pick you up, you'd pat your cheeks and look at me with this pitiful little face.
- You and your brother have a love/hate relationship with playing together and sharing toys. I'm sure this is only the beginning...
- At the doctor this month, you weighed ___ lbs. and were ____ in. long.
- You are still wearing size 4 diapers and 12 month clothes (although you're probably ready to move up to the 18 month clothes).

14 Months
Dear Cole,
This has been a crazy month full of fun holiday activities. We love watching you experience these things for the first time.
- You are trying to climb things- the shelves in the refrigerator, toy boxes, into chairs- but you haven't been successful...yet.
- It is obvious how much you are understanding now! You still don't say a whole lot, but you understand the words yes, no, paci, book, and all the members of our family.
- You know where things go. You know the books in our living room go on the shelf, your socks go on your feet, and you try to put your diaper on while I'm changing you (that makes things tough!) You even try to put Levi's glasses on your head the other day.
- You want anything and everything your brother has- snacks, water, snacks, toys, oh and snacks!
- You are walking- a few steps at a time, and you're still very unsure of yourself- but you're walking.
- You are a Daddy's boy! As soon as you hear him coming in the door in the evenings, you scramble towards the door screaming "da da da da da"
- You aren't saying many words but you are definitely speaking your mind. You grunt, scream, and even throw little fits. You make sure that Levi (and the rest of us) knows exactly what you do or do not like.
- You shake your head for 'yes' and 'no.' Your answers aren't always accurate, but we love watching you respond to our questions.
- You will still eat just about anything but your favorites are still bread and cheese. You also love bananas, applesauce, chicken, carrots, and green beans.
- You are still a pretty great sleeper. You usually take two, two hour naps and sleep from about 8:00-about 7:00.
- This month you moved into your new car seat. You look tiny in that huge seat, but you seem to like it. I know I love not having to lug you and that infant carseat to the car!
- You love to watchyourself the sweet baby on my phone videos. You sit and talk and smile at the screen, and it's one of the sweetest things!
- You've got quite the mullet growing these days. It's time for your first haircut.
- When you play with planes and cars, you've started making noises for them. I love how little boys pick that up so quickly!
- Some of your favorite toys right now include balls, our play kitchen, the Captain (bath toy), and books. You also love the Little People playsets we have- the Nativity scene, the farm, and your new pirate ship.
- You have figured out how to push open/closed doors. You love it and seem so proud of yourself when you do it!
- You love to drink out of your brother's straw cups, and you've even figured out the bite-top on the Camelback cups.
